Light Tower Acquire KeySpan Communications

Light Tower Fiber LLC, a leading provider of digital fiber optic networks, announced recently that it has acquired KeySpan Communications Corp. With 3,600 route miles from Albany, NY to Long Island already in its portfolio, the acquisition expands Light Tower's fiber optic network offerings extensively in New York City and Long Island as well as adds rights in three Trans-Atlantic cable systems.

Combining KeySpan Communication's fiber assets with Light Tower’s existing fiber network, which includes the recent acquisition of DataNet Communications Group, establishes a unique Northeast footprint and positions them to be able to meet their customers’ needs and better prepares them to help their customers manage the growing pressure to increase capacity and decrease backhaul costs.

The addition of the capacity rights in three Trans-Atlantic cable systems from New York to Paris and London allows Light Tower Fiber to offer unique optics links between the Trans-Atlantic landing stations and points outside of New York City using routes diverse from Manhattan.
