Adobe Picks YuMe as an Ad Delivery Platform

Adobe has selected video at network YuMe to help serve advertising into its streaming and downloaded content, YuMe announced today. Andy interviewed Adobe’s Craig Barberich last summer, when the Adobe Media Player originally launched, about inserting adveritising into the Adobe Media Player’s downloadable video. I republished the interview above.

Advertising can be served on Adobe Media Player videos even when the user isn’t connected to the Internet, according to Barberich. “Now what publishers can do is they can actually monetize they’re content in a disconnected environment as well as a connected,” he says. In the segment, he gives Andy a demonstration of video-on-video advertising on the Media Player.

The Redwood, CA-based YuMe, founded in 2004, raised $16 million in funding from Khosla Ventures Accel Partners, BV Capital and DAG Ventures.
