CES Notebook: Blu-ray Chief Expects 70 3-D Theatrical Releases in 2011

LAS VEGAS — The success of 3-D TV in the nearterm could be determined by the availablity of 3-D films on Blu-ray. According to Andy Parsons, chairman of the Blu-ray Disc Association, the number of theatrical releases for 2011 will more than double in 2011 to over 70 titles. In this interview with Beet.TV at the CES show, he says that Blu-ray is growing so quickly that “it will be diffult to find a standard DVD player in a year or two.” Andy Plesser
